Am & Ben – Vintage Glam at Baxter Barn

The Big Reveal – The face behind the computer and chief bouquet creator here at Woopsadaisy!
Okay, this is such a strange moment! Posting a blog of my very own engagement part at the fabulous Baxter Barn
Weddings and Events. It was such a surreal night celebrating at one of our favourite venues after doing so many fabulous set ups there. So, you might be wondering how did we end up with gold sequins and vintage glam at The Barn? I can honestly say it all started with the dress!

I definitely expected to be throwing a boho bash when it all began but the dress dictates! We will have to save the macrame and dream catchers for the wedding.
I scored this little Alex Perry beauty on Ebay for about 1/10th of what it was worth which was not only super lucky and definitely inspired everything from here on out!
Next step was to find a jacket to equal the luxe vibe. Two words; red velvet and one stop, Politix!

One thing lead to another and then Red Velvet multiplied into a red velvet couch and later a Cake!
From choosing the outfits, a colour palette of burgundy, nude and blush was born.

I ordered custom stickers from DiVinyl Labels for my custom sign! (Remember although we do hire out generic
signs if you are not fussed about names and such – we can also style your sign if you need!)

When I knew we were going ahead with Baxter Barn as our venue, I knew we had to catch some of those famous
sunset vibes. My beyond fabulous photographer Emily Howlett ensured we were in all the right places at all the right times. We will be eternally grateful for her stunning captures and for making us look super relaxed when we were actually one giant ball of excitement and nerves!
Okay so now for my possibly favourite thing ever! Our epic cake by The Cake Stop in Beaconsfield.
Now, for those who don’t know us, we love to travel. In fairytale, movie cliche style Ben actually popped the question in front of the castle at Disneyland in LA! So, we thought what better way to celebrate the start of the rest of our lives.. than to eat a gold leaf map of the world? Underneath this marvellous top tier exterior was a delicious white chocolate raspberry and as for the bottom tier.. a red velvet cake covered in edible gold sequins. One might think we were inspired by the outfits?

The cake is pictured on our gold cake stand available for hire, macarons by The Cake Stop, Cake Topper from ebay “DIY Parties by Renee” and of course all florals by us!
A beautiful mix of Grand Jubilee Roses, blushing bride, hypericum berries, Natasha mini roses and green foliage.

Now a cute shot of my beautiful hair piece by the Woopsadaisy Team Wiring Queen and buttonhole extraordinaire Mary! Side note, for all Baxter Barn brides who try to work out when the wisteria is at its best. This was October 14!

Another shot of our absolutely mind blowing red velvet couch setting with antique table and antique vase of florals!
One of the rare times it wasn’t occupied throughout the night. Something so pretty for photos that doubles as a super comfy area for guest chilling, whats not to love?!
Our 1.2m Light Up Love Letters helped to perfectly fill up this corner of the marquee which actually became
a hot spot for photos throughout the night! This is an especially great to way to fill a space if you are having cocktail style without so many tables out!

There is two styles of tables at the Barn! The rectangle timber tables were styled here with our long timber boxes of mostly foliages with a few pops of colour and the “pinwheel” tables were just simply styled with a timber slice and a gold lantern of blooms and LED candles in a mix of varied height vases.

SPRUNG.. Another very popular photo hot spot of the evening was our uber cute retro kissing booth available for hire! Although, I’m not sure how many other kisses happened in there I do recall a Krispy Kreme being devoured
Lady and The Tramp style in here but some of our Besties!

Now, our epic, magnificent, brilliant Gold Mesh Wall with neon sign and beautiful florals were a major winner!
Their first time visiting the Barn and they made a grand impression! A stunning backdrop for the speeches and dancefloor that really added an edgey vibe to the Barn. This mesh wall stands at 2.2m high and is 2m wide.

Our 6ft gold stands were such a grand entrance to the Barn! Available to hire and great to style Dancefloors, Entrances, Ceremonies you name it!

Our red vintage couch came inside when the party got serious! It made a great viewing spot for those not so keen to bust a move as the madness unfolded.

Big love must also go to the incredible Parisa Artistry who did my make up on the day! Girls, if you’re looking for a super talented make up artist hit her up on her socials!
